Fear.

What happens when you step outside of your comfort zone?

What happens when you try something that you’ve never tried before?

You get a little scared.

Ok, maybe a lot scared. 😉

I’ll be speaking at WordCamp Montreal at the end of the month and I’m pretty damn nervous about it.

Why I decided to have a big WordCamp be the first time I speak in public, I could not tell you. But I did and it’s too late to turn back now!

Now I have to finish this damn presentation.

Based on a suggestion from my husband, I’m going to form my presentation around a live demo with some supporting documentation. I’m more natural working freeform – I mean obviously I’ll have prepared the presentation outline and I’ll have notes to work from. I just want to keep a level of spontaneity to the presentation so I don’t put the room to sleep. 🙂

To celebrate my new direction, I bought myself a new shirt and am going to tell myself I’m going to do great until I start to believe it.

Fear, go home!
